Project for the Information Visualization Tutorial WS 09/10.
Photos and music are of our every day life. But moreover they are great tools to express, reflect and also to influence our moods. Users of flickr and last.fm therefore do not describe music or pictures only by genre, motive, artist or title, but also with feelings or even use abstract wording. Those abstract tags, associated with a certain mood, can be an important tool if searching for music or photos, that mirror the feelings of a user.
But how can we describe the mood of a user. Our idea was to specify five different dimensions to describe a certain mood: happyness, activeness, seriousness, sense of time and temperature. The user can set up those dimensions in a way that matches his/her mood and gets an adjusted stream of pictures and music.
- Identify associations between tags and mood dimensions
- Stream pictures depending on a search tag
- Stream music depending on a search tag
- Display information visualisation
Use the sliders in the „Settings“ menu of the visualisation.
